Iraqis Welcome Coalition Forces in May 2003
The current problems faced by US and Coalition Forces in Iraq are best illustrated by the following photo, showing Iraqis welcoming the victorious US and Coalition Forces into Baghdad.
The visual message was never taken seriously by the Coalition Forces. The Coalition's Central Military Command was still hoping for kisses and hugs on the streets of Baghdad.
Wishful reminiscences of the moods of Allied victory in Europe after the Second World War. Sadly,in Iraq, it wasn't to be the case.
