Presidential hopeful Barack Obama sought to build momentum from his decisive victory in the Iowa Democratic caucus as rival Hillary Clinton, trying to recover from her third-place finish, asked New Hampshire voters to weigh her experience.

Obama, his voice hoarse, exhorted voters this morning in the seaport city of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, to support his candidacy in the state's Jan. 8 primary.

``New Hampshire, if you give me the same chance that Iowa gave me last night, I truly believe I will be president of the United States of America,'' the freshman Illinois senator told supporters. ``Four days from now, New Hampshire, you have the chance to change America.''

The crowd chanted an Obama campaign motto, ``Fired Up, Ready to Go.''
